Water.png Water is a critical resource keeping colonists alive and buildings up and running. Some water producers have different production percentages depending on the soil they are placed on.

Water and colonists[edit | edit source]

In the beginning you can choose between Water Well and the Water Collector as your main source of water.

Sufficient production of Water is critical for Colonists. Each consumes a set amount every day and going thirsty for extended periods will result in Dehydration. This critical condition will quickly lead to death unless more water producers, like Water Collectors or Water Wells, are built. Water can be extracted directly from the ground or next to a shore.

Clean water storages can help alleviate a situation where lots of new survivors join the colony and the demand for water ramps up.

Water and buildings[edit | edit source]

Some buildings need water, which is distributed via Water Towers.

Some of the buildings will reserve a set amount of water for their own use, so be sure to have enough capacity before constructing them to avoid a situation where you have to choose between an operational building and the well-being of your colonists.

Water is distributed to buildings via Water Towers Effective Area. Water stored in the rusty barrels cannot be used by colonists, even in the most dire need.
